Bar Vocational Course: University of Northumbria

This is not exactly a great university for BVC training.
Tutors in the main were more interested in themselves (& 1 often snoozed during advocacy seminars). The course leader had not completed a pupillage but graded Advocacy 1!
The examination set-up was ridiculous (other providers gave their students more than 2 hrs to prepare for their EIC/CX/negotiation – although I realise that conferencing can occur at very short notice).
Some very good students were graded competent & some poor advocates received VC’s.
A lot also definitely depended on how much of a ‘brown-noser’ you were!
Choose a different university if you can!
